An unexpected pregnancy affects not only the pregnant mother, but the immediate family system surrounding her.

This is especially so if the mother is a minor, still living under her mother’s protective care.

For her mother – the grandmother of her preborn baby – the grief is further nuanced because, so very often, she is also grieving what she perceives to be the loss of her daughter’s innocence and the plans and dreams she has for her future.

Kay was livid when she found out that her teenage daughter was pregnant.

Her daughter was a star student, and Kay had her future “mapped out for her.”

Kay was determined that her precious girl would have the very best that life could offer.

As far as Kay was concerned, this pregnancy would derail her daughter’s future.

There was no question: Abortion would be the only solution.

Kay Googled for information on abortion services, triggering Heroic Media’s OAASYS Emergency Response ad to appear in the top of her search results.

Kay called the number on her screen, connecting her to Heroic Media’s Pregnancy Help Center partner in Akron, Ohio.

Speaking with the center’s hotline staff, Kay emphatically stated, “I don’t care how far along she is.” The abortion just needed to be done.

But, by God’s mercy, the empathy and compassion communicated by the pregnancy center staff convinced Kay to bring her daughter in for an ultrasound before rushing into getting an abortion.

They had no idea the turnaround God was going to bring about at their appointment!

Both Kay and her daughter thought she was early in her pregnancy.

The ultrasound revealed that the baby was more than 26 weeks old!

This was past the period allowed for an abortion in the state of Ohio.

Panicked, Kay even entertained the thought of taking her daughter to another state which permitted late-term abortions.

However, their client advocate helped them process through their wrought emotions and spoke words of truth and hope which proved both life-giving and life-saving!

Once Kay was able to see past her panic, she came to the realization that, not only was her grandchild’s life at stake – her daughter’s life would be indelibly, adversely impacted if she went through with an abortion.

Your support of OAASYS enabled Kay and her daughter to find the help they needed to be empowered to choose life – for both Kay’s daughter and her grandbaby!

THANK YOU!
