The mindset of a woman contemplating abortion is multifaceted.

And the decision to have an abortion is seldom clear-cut.

Often, the woman will admit that she thinks an abortion is “not right.”

Yet, her circumstances overwhelm the truth she knows.

Irrational thinking becomes the guide to her decision, making a wrong “seem right.”

Emily called one of our Pregnancy Help Center partners in Chicago when its phone number appeared at the top of her Google search results for abortion services – a testament to the effectiveness of Heroic Media’s OAASYS Emergency Response ads.

Assuming she was calling an abortion facility without clarifying with the hotline staff, Emily made an appointment right away.

The client advocate Emily met with at the pregnancy center found her resolute about her abortion decision: “she would not change her mind about it.”

When invited to share more about her determination, Emily revealed that, even though she did not “believe in abortion,” she needed to go through with it because she had a rocky relationship with her boyfriend and believed the abortion would cut him out of her life. .

Emily was stunned when she realized that our Pregnancy Help Center partner was not an abortion facility.

She shared that she had decided she would call both her OBGYN and an abortion facility, and whichever of the two would give her the appointment first, she would take as a sign to determine her decision.

If her OBGYN responded first, that would be her sign to continue with her pregnancy.

Or – she would terminate if she got an earlier appointment with an abortion facility.

Emily’s client advocate compassionately helped her to see the irrationality of her thinking about terminating her pregnancy in order to “terminate” her relationship with her boyfriend.

Emily realized that her baby’s life was not contingent on her circumstances.

Seeing the ultrasound of her baby drove home this realization and empowered Emily to choose life!

Your support of Heroic Media directly resulted in the serendipitous “mistake” Emily made in thinking our Pregnancy Help Center partner was an abortion facility!

Without that strong motivation to make and go in haste to her appointment, Emily’s decision regarding her pregnancy would have had a very different outcome.

THANK YOU for connecting women and men with life-giving help every day!
