Madison and Mike met in high school and married immediately after graduating.

They didn’t know each other well, but they experienced an immediate spark that convinced them that “it was love.”

Despite their parents’ protests, they moved in together and got married at the local county courthouse.

Within days of their new marriage, things started to change.

Madison began to see how angry Mike was.

Over the next several months, anger turned to stomping fits of rage.

What had she gotten herself into…?”

Yet, after alienating her entire family, she felt that she had nowhere to turn.

Like so many other women, Madison “found reason after reason to continue living this life” with this very angry man – a life she’d never anticipated.

Over time, she “became numb” to Mike’s rantings and, sadly, began to accept his behavior as “normal.”

When she discovered she was unexpectedly pregnant, the thought of parenting her baby with this angry father never even crossed her mind.

Suddenly, her situation didn’t seem so “normal.”

She felt certain she couldn’t bring a baby into her home.

She immediately began looking for an abortion facility online.

Thanks to your support of Heroic Media’s OAASYS Emergency Response ads, she was connected with OAASYS’s Pregnancy Help Center partner in Tampa, Florida instead, and made an appointment to be seen right away.

When Madison arrived for her first appointment, her demeanor was clearly one of sadness and defeat.

She went into the counseling room to discuss options, and opened up, sharing the truth about the difficult marriage she was in.

Her client advocate, offering unconditional compassion and support, spent a considerable amount of time discussing the importance of taking care of and protecting herself – sharing critical information about local resources for dealing with anger management and escaping potential domestic violence.

The conversation eventually moved to the baby, and Madison vocalized her fear of bringing a baby into the household.

Her advocate assured her that she had the center’s full support and would not be “walking alone.”

Establishing a new relationship and beginning to build trust with the caring center staff, Madison left the appointment still abortion-minded, but willing to return for an ultrasound.

This time, she brought Mike with her.

Stunned at the sight on the ultrasound screen, they both expressed awe at the “well-formed and active” baby in Madison’s womb – and both expressed a change of mind about getting the abortion!

In addition to providing both emotional and material support, the center stayed in close contact with Madison throughout the pregnancy, encouraging counseling services for both her and Mike to get the healing they both needed and to discover God’s plan for healthy relationships and marriages.

Thanks to this divine intervention, Madison not only chose life for this precious baby, but a path for “new life” and health for herself and her marriage.

Praise God!
