The decision-making process is typically predicated on a cost-benefit analysis.

Enter “panic” during an unexpected pregnancy for the woman thinking abortion may be a “solution.”

When the woman perceives that her cost for continuing with the pregnancy – be it financial, emotional, or relational – outweighs her estimation of her baby’s life, “abortion” screams her name.

Yet, there is one ultimate cost that is often overlooked, a cost that cancels out any other cost.

That is the cost Jesus paid on the Cross when He gave his life.

His death purchased our redemption, which means there is hope for every situation we face.

And if we will only trust, and base our decision upon Him, He always provides a way out.

Ellen already had four children, all under 10 years of age.

Still nursing her youngest child, she did not think she could become pregnant again while nursing.

Not only was the pregnancy an utter shock, it was absolutely not in the grand scheme of her plans.

The weight of the financial and emotional cost of having another child had driven Ellen to the tipping point.

Searching the internet for information on obtaining the abortion pill, Heroic Media’s OAASYS Emergency Response ad was instantly triggered.

Ellen called the number on the ad, connecting her with our Pregnancy Help Center partner in Akron, Ohio.

The hotline counselor helped Ellen understand the importance of getting all the information she needed before proceeding with an abortion, including an ultrasound to determine the viability of her pregnancy.

Convinced, Ellen made an appointment to be seen.

During her intake session, Ellen admitted that not only did she not want to bear the financial and emotional cost of continuing with her pregnancy, she did not want to have to pay for the cost of the abortion itself.

Her client advocate encouraged her to consider the emotional cost of going through with an abortion, especially knowing that her baby would pay the ultimate cost with its life.

More than simply communicating this hard truth, she showed Ellen Christ’s mercy for her and pointed her to His redemptive plan for her life.

By the time Ellen entered the ultrasound room, her countenance had changed.

She seemed more connected with her pregnancy, and less determined to have an abortion.

When she saw her baby on the screen, she shared that she was already thinking of names for her baby!

What she had perceived as the cost to her of continuing with her pregnancy now paled in comparison to the tangible reality of her baby’s life.

Your support of Heroic Media’s OAASYS enabled Ellen to see that because Jesus paid the cost for her, she could make the choice for life.

THANK YOU for standing in the gap and helping tip the scales to LIFE for Ellen and her baby!
