Amina searched online for an abortion, stumbling upon a Heroic Media ad that led her to call our pregnancy help center partner in Philadelphia.
She was very adamant about her decision to go through with an abortion, stressing the need for a same-day procedure when she scheduled her appointment. At this point, she was already aware that she was pregnant with twins.
Although Amina was initially excited about the possibility of mothering two children, she became overwhelmed and fearful about raising her babies alone, since her boyfriend had abandoned her in the midst of this new reality.
During her visit with the client advocate at the pregnancy help center, Amina expressed, “I don’t want to have an abortion, but I feel like I have to.” She learned about the reality of abortion procedures, which left her shocked and tearful.
Amina exclaimed, “I don’t think I can do that. I want to keep these babies!”
An ultrasound revealed her twins were progressing well, measuring near the middle of her first trimester. This visual confirmation solidified Amina’s resolve. Amina tearfully told the client advocate, “I cannot have an abortion. They are a blessing.”
Amina’s conversation with the advocate helped her realize that her initial decision was based on fear. She expressed newfound certainty, saying she was “100% sure” she wanted to keep her babies and felt the same joy and excitement she did when she first learned of her pregnancy. She has continued to stay in touch with her advocate, sharing updates about her situation.
Although the father of her babies remains unreliable, Amina has decided to move forward without him. When offered additional assistance from the center, she gratefully replied, “All of you at the center have done enough!”
Recently, Amina shared the joyous news that she is expecting twin girls and has secured a new job, marking the beginning of a hopeful new chapter in her life.
We are grateful for the critical comprehensive support Amina found during a pivotal moment in her life!
