Avery, a college student living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was in the homestretch of earning her marketing degree when she realized she was pregnant.

She and her husband had married young and hoped to finish school and establish their careers before having kids.

“This isn’t good timing.”

Avery began searching online for an abortion facility.

Thanks to your support of Heroic Media’s OAASYS (On-demand Alternatives to Abortion SYStem) Emergency Response ads, she was connected with an OAASYS’s Pregnancy Help Center in Philadelphia instead, and made an appointment to be seen.

When she first arrived, she marked “undecided” on her paperwork.

She expressed her initial inclination toward not keeping the baby, citing her current circumstances of being a student, the couple living with her mother, and that she was working only two days a week.

However, during her consultation, she confided that she had started considering continuing the pregnancy, believing that having a baby could potentially be a positive experience. Her husband was aware of the pregnancy, and was also torn between “the two choices”.

Throughout their interactions, Avery showed genuine engagement, asking numerous questions to gain a thorough understanding of the information provided.

The gravity of the abortion procedures and emotional risks brought tears to her eyes.

She worried about the emotional toll the abortion might take on her and was encouraged to reflect on this aspect.

When the couple returned for Avery’s ultrasound, only Avery chose to meet with her client advocate.

She revealed that, just two days prior, she and her husband had agreed to pursue the abortion.

However, the ultrasound seemed to intensify her emotional turmoil, leaving her undecided once again.

Avery’s husband was encouraged to join the conversation, and their advocate reiterated the abortion information for him.

Although he listened attentively, he didn’t pose many questions.

Both Avery and her husband acknowledged the potential emotional risks involved but were otherwise quiet.

As the session drew to a close, the couple agreed to return for another ultrasound.

Avery attended that appointment alone, still undecided.

Her husband had been leaning toward parenting, but Avery still felt strongly about pursuing the abortion.

She explained that she didn’t feel ready and didn’t want a baby at this moment in her life.

But – she was unwilling to proceed without her husband’s support.

Despite their plans to continue discussing their options at the next appointment, Avery failed to show up for it.

Her advocate continued to reach out, but Avery remained unresponsive, leaving them uncertain about her final decision.

After a couple of weeks filled with uncertainty, Avery finally reached out to the center.

In a voice now filled with excitement, she shared the news that she had chosen life for her baby girl!

Now with joy, Avery looked forward to embracing motherhood and eagerly anticipated the arrival of her precious child!

Praise God for this beautiful change of mind and heart!

Avery’s journey had been one of introspection, uncertainty, and, ultimately, a firm decision.

The support she received from the pregnancy center played a significant role in helping her navigate this challenging chapter of her life.

It was a testament to the importance of fully understanding her options and the truth about abortion – and the enduring power of hope and love!

Praise the Lord!

And thank you for the critical role you played in this story through your prayers and support!

God bless you!
