When life does not seem to make sense, our finite human understanding struggles to reconcile devastating circumstances with why God would allow them in the first place.

However, God does not need to understand the “whys.”

He only asks us to have a heart that is willing to trust in His unfailing goodness – to proclaim that even if our circumstances do not change, we choose to trust that He is sovereign over us.

Julia felt like she was in a living nightmare.

She had recently suffered the loss of her newborn baby, and the grief was still very raw and deeply traumatizing.

In the midst of trying to piece her life back together, she found out she was pregnant.

Instead of joy, however, fear gripped Julia as the words of her doctor rang in her ears: “Your pre-existing medical condition might result in another pregnancy loss.”

Julia could not fathom going through another pregnancy only to lose her baby again.

If this baby would not survive, Julia thought, she might as well “get it over with” and undergo an abortion rather than risk having her heart ripped again.

In her internet search for abortion providers, Julia found Heroic Media’s OAASYS Emergency Response ad which connected her directly with our Pregnancy Help Center partner in Tampa, Florida.

Julia agreed to make an appointment for an ultrasound, even though she had already mentally prepared herself to go through with an abortion.

The ultrasound was an emotional experience for Julia.

She was fearful that seeing her baby and hearing its heartbeat would cause her to become emotionally attached.

Yet… at the same time… she desperately wanted to see her baby.

The pregnancy center staff treated Julia with great compassion and lovingly guided her through the process.

Julia’s client advocate helped her see that God, Who had created this life within her, had a loving purpose for both her and her baby.

She prayed with Julia for a miracle for her baby’s life to be preserved.

Seeing her new baby on the ultrasound screen, along with the loving counsel she had received at the pregnancy center, helped Julia realize that an abortion was not the answer.

Rather, she would choose to trust in God, regardless of the outcome.

Even if God did not answer as she wanted, Julia came to trust that His plan is always good.

In her words, “I will do my part, and only God knows what is going to happen.”

Please continue praying for Julia and her sweet baby.

Thank you for helping her embrace her pregnancy with courage and hope!
