Conventional wisdom teaches that the natural human progression moves from life to death.

Yet, for all who have given their lives to Christ, that progression is reversed!

God’s redemptive power means that while before, we were “dead in our
transgressions,” we now have new life in us that culminates ultimately in eternal life.

Putting to death the sins of our past by believing in Jesus allows us to move from death towards life!

Liz felt like her life was all but over.

She had been in a toxic relationship, and as soon as she found out she was pregnant, her boyfriend exerted immediate pressure on her to get an abortion.

By God’s mercy, their search for abortion options in Tulsa, Oklahoma, resulted in their calling Heroic Media’s Tulsa Pregnancy Help Center partner instead of the local abortion business due to OAASYS’s strategic Emergency Response ad campaign targeting abortion searches on the internet.

Liz received an ultrasound during her first appointment at the center.

Seeing her baby and hearing his heartbeat made such a strong impact on her that she immediately proclaimed that this baby was her “hidden treasure”!

Having earned Liz’s trust, she revealed to the compassionate staff at the center that she had an abortion appointment scheduled for that very day – but because she came to the pregnancy center first and saw her baby on the ultrasound screen, she’d decided she could not go through with an abortion.

The pregnancy center staff encouraged her in her decision to choose life and assured her that they would help her throughout her pregnancy.

Days later, however, this “happy ending” had an unexpected twist.

Liz called the center and, through tears, stammered: “I have done a bad thing.”

The pressure from those around her to abort her baby had proved too strong for her to withstand.

She had gotten a medical abortion, taking both courses of the abortion pills that she had been given.

Feeling frantic and consumed by regret and guilt, the only place Liz knew she could turn to was our pregnancy help center partner because of the compassion she had experienced there.

The center exhorted her to come back immediately for another ultrasound – and to the amazement of both Liz and the center staff, her baby was not only still intact within her womb, but he also had a heartbeat!

The baby was still alive in spite of the attempted medical abortion!

Liz had no doubt that this was a miracle and that God had brought her baby from death to life!

On a significant, spiritual level, Liz was brought from death to life as well.

The PHC staff shared the gospel with her and gifted her with a Bible.

For the first time, Liz saw that she could leave the mistakes of her past behind.

The death sentence she had been under from the life she had been living was removed, and her new life in Christ began!

What’s more, this new life could now be lived with her precious baby!
