“I’m afraid of my family, but my boyfriend is supportive of whatever I choose.”
Those were the words Sara blurted out when she stumbled into the pregnancy center, unexpected and unannounced.
After searching the internet trying to identify her sudden-onset symptoms – breast tenderness, nausea, bloating, and unexplained anxiety – Sara was beginning to realize she was pregnant.
Without thinking twice, she was back online to look for an abortion facility.
Thanks to your support of Heroic Media’s OAASYS Emergency Response ads, she was connected with OAASYS’s Pregnancy Help Center partner in Tampa, Florida instead.
Seeing that the center was open, the 17-year-old high school senior drove herself there right away.
Her client advocates were quick to listen and help her catch her breath.
She was clearly nervous and unsure of herself.
The first manner of business was to offer Sara a pregnancy test.
Her suspicions were confirmed three minutes later as the test returned a positive pregnancy result.
She texted her boyfriend to let him know she was definitely pregnant.
Sara asked her client advocates a myriad of questions about abortion.
She wanted to understand the different procedures, the costs involved, and she even asked if she would have any emotional trauma after going through with the abortion.
Her advocates were armed with medically accurate information and shared about the emotional harm of abortion on the woman and the physical reality that abortion ends a human life.
Having no idea how far along she was, Sarah next accepted the offer for a free ultrasound – with one caveat: she wanted her boyfriend to be present.
She called him and he agreed to come.
It wasn’t even 20 minutes later that Sara was in the ultrasound room, about to see her baby for the first time.
She was shocked to learn that the baby was already measuring 12 weeks!
That precious little baby demonstrated a strong heartbeat and was “bouncing from wall to wall” in her womb!
“The baby is so active… it’s so… alive…!” Sara exclaimed as she looked at her boyfriend.
With his eyes wide open at the sight, and his heart softened, he immediately responded:
“There’s no way we can get an abortion now!”
Sara’s initial worry about her family’s reaction became a “distant memory.”
Less than 10 seconds into the ultrasound, she’d already bonded with her baby and made the decision to love and cherish her child for the rest of her life.
Praise God, the Lord and Giver of Life!
And thank YOU for the critical role you played in their life stories!
