The silence was deafening.
When Rachel and her boyfriend had first started dating, he was in hot pursuit.
She would hear from him multiple times a day, if not every hour on the hour.
She was convinced he was “the one,” and had already started planning their grand future together.
But everything changed when she found out she was pregnant.
Rachel broke the news to him, and while she was not expecting him to pop the champagne, she never dreamed it would be the last time she would ever hear from him.
But… just like that, he was gone.
In the depths of her despair and rejection, Rachel felt “abortion” screaming her name.
She was unwanted.
Her baby was unwanted.
And this is New York City… Didn’t they just enshrine a law allowing abortion up until birth?
Besides, everyone she knew seemed to have had an abortion.
So, it would be no big deal. Right?
Rachel tapped the ad which appeared among the top search results when she Googled for abortion services on her smartphone.
It read, “Looking for an abortion? You’re not alone. We can help.”
Unbeknownst to her, it was a Heroic Media OAASYS ad which connected abortion seekers with real, life-affirming help.
Rachel called the number, connecting with our Pregnancy Help Center partner in New York City, where she found the compassionate response she so very much needed.
The counselor at our PHC partner encouraged Rachel to carefully think through her decision and to share the news of her pregnancy with her mom.
An ultrasound appointment was made.
Both Rachel’s mother and grandmother accompanied her to the ultrasound appointment.
They were all amazed to see the fully developed baby on the screen – everything from limbs to the spinal cord – to most amazingly – the flicker of the baby’s tiny beating heart.
There was no doubt that this was a life!
“We’re not aborting my great-grandbaby!” proclaimed Rachel’s grandmother.
“You have our total support, Rachel. We will help you with the baby!” Rachel’s mother assured.
And… just like that, the idea of abortion was unceremoniously shoved out the door, no longer welcomed!
Even though she still faced the fears of an uncertain future, Rachel felt newly empowered, knowing that, with the total support of her family, she could fully embrace this gift of motherhood.
And that she, too, could be there for her child the way her mother and grandmother had been there for her.
Had she been connected with an abortion provider instead of our PHC partner, she would have been robbed of the chance to do so.
Your support of Heroic Media enabled generational blessings to manifest in the lives of Rachel and her baby.
THANK YOU and God bless you!
