The Urban Dictionary defines “Godincidence” as “the obvious presence of God, in what classically has been termed ‘coincidence,’ in which there is no plausible explanation.”
As Christians, we believe that everything that happens does so under the sovereignty of Our Almighty God.
Indeed, Psalm 139 declares that every moment of our lives has been recorded and laid out in His book before a single day had passed.
Every seeming “coincidence” is really a “Godincidence” orchestrated for our good!
Amanda knew she was early in her pregnancy, likely no more than four or five weeks along.
She also felt certain that she wanted an abortion.
She had convinced herself that, because she was so early in her pregnancy, her baby was “not quite yet formed,” and the medical abortion, “popping a few pills,” would quickly “take care of the ‘problem.’”
Amanda’s internet search for a medical abortion triggered Heroic Media’s OAASYS Emergency Response ad to populate at the top of her search results.
She called the phone number displayed and was instantly connected with our Pregnancy Help Center partner in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
During her appointment, Amanda made it clear that she felt she was not ready to have a baby.
In spite of the compassionate counseling she received, she left the pregnancy center still abortion-minded, to the dismay of the staff.
However, God was not done with her yet!
The next day, the hotline at our partner center rang – and it was Amanda on the phone!
She was not intending to call the pregnancy center – she thought she was calling an abortion facility.
The hotline counselor saw this as a divinely orchestrated opportunity God was providing for another connection with Amanda.
She lovingly encouraged Amanda to rethink her options and reassured her that she was not alone in her situation and that, should she decide to continue with her pregnancy, there were support resources available to help her.
Amanda began to sound more hesitant about her abortion decision on the phone than when she had been at the center the day before.
Experiencing compassionate, life-affirming counseling a second time was starting to tear down her resolve to have an abortion!
Our PHC partner called Amanda a few weeks later to check in on her – and she shared the beautiful news that she had decided to continue with her pregnancy!
Clearly, it was not a coincidence that she’d called our partner “by mistake,” but, rather, a Godincidence!
THANK YOU for your faithful support of Heroic Media’s OAASYS, which makes Godincidences like this possible every day across our country.
Your partnership itself is a Godincidence!
