The Bible tells us that when we see Jesus face to face, we’ll be like Him!

We’ll be fully characterized by His character: His kindness, His goodness, His holiness, and so much more!

But Scripture is also clear that getting to this place “takes time.”

While we often perceive this process as a “destination” – a “sudden arriving at a place of Christlikeness” – the truth is that it’s more of a journey: a journey of hills and valleys, ups and downs, “two steps forward and one step back.”

Victoria knew Jesus, but upon entering her freshman year of college, she found herself wandering through one of these valleys.

She was living at her Dad’s house while attending school.

Everything came to a head when she stared down at a positive pregnancy test on the floor of the bathroom.

Suddenly she was “facing the fruit of her choices” and felt a tidal wave of shame and regret wash over her.

The enemy has a way of trying to “use shame” to trick us into “hiding out” in the valley rather than coming up into the light.

Victoria was certain that her father would stop supporting her financially if she were pregnant.

A million reasons flooded her mind to convince her that keeping the baby was not an option.

She decided abortion was the only way to “move past the situation” and on with life “as if nothing had happened.”

Thankfully, her internet search for nearby abortion facilities returned Heroic Media’s OAASYS Emergency Response ad, connecting her with OAASYS’s Pregnancy Help Center partner in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

She made an appointment to be seen.

At the center, her client advocate walked her through the realities of abortion, including the emotional toll abortion takes on women, and the devastation involved in the taking of innocent life.

Victoria agreed to watch a video on chemical abortions and found it to be very informative.

After discussing options beyond abortion, including adoption – her parents had recently adopted a seven-month-old baby sister! – she seemed more open to choosing life for her baby.

By God’s grace, she began to open up about her own spiritual journey, and the center staff was well prepared to talk to her further about what it looks like to follow Jesus.

They showered her with the love of Jesus, reminding her that God is the God who redeems all broken things.

He’s the God Who doesn’t give up on us when we falter!

By the end of their conversation, Victoria asked to pray – and she made the courageous decision to recommit her life to Christ – to leave the darkness behind and walk in the light!

Thanks to YOUR support of Heroic Media’s OAASYS, Victoria now knows that “you can never be too far gone” to return to the arms of Jesus!

This truth is what ultimately led her to share her pregnancy news with her Dad and, much to her surprise, he was very supportive of her decision to choose life for her baby!

She knows now more than ever that both her Heavenly Father AND her earthly father love her no matter what, and will always take her back!

Praise God!
