Fear and anxiety are commonplace in this life, but we serve a God who promises to trade our fears for a peace that surpasses all understanding when we trust in Him in all of our circumstances.
When Haley joined the U.S. Army Reserves at the ripe age of 19, she swore an oath to always protect and defend the lives of her fellow countrymen.
But when she discovered the little life growing inside of her, a million questions and anxious thoughts flooded her mind:
“How would she stay true to her commitment to the Army?”
“How would she finish college and earn her degree?”
“How would she financially make ends meet when she was already supporting her mom and sister?”
“What kind of help would she have raising a baby and becoming a first-time mother?”
These questions weren’t unique to Haley.
These are the types of questions that many women ask themselves when facing a new pregnancy, whether expected or unexpected.
No matter how shocking or difficult the circumstances are to us, they are never too difficult for God.
God always finds a way to make His presence known to those most in need!
Haley was an independent and driven woman, so in similar fashion, she immediately sought out options by searching the internet.
Her search triggered Heroic Media’s OAASYS Emergency Response ad, connecting her with one of OAASYS’s Pregnancy Help Center partners in Dallas, Texas.
After an emotional Haley spoke with an advocate at the center, she made an appointment to come in for testing.
Not long before she’d discovered she was facing this unexpected pregnancy, Haley and the father of the baby had ended their two-year relationship.
As one can imagine, the news was shocking to both of them.
They remained undecided about next steps as they arrived together at the pregnancy center.
And together, upon meeting with the warm and resourceful staff, Haley and the father of the baby confirmed the pregnancy – and learned about the wonderful support programs available to them.
They also learned about the variety of alternatives to abortion, but most importantly, they learned firsthand that God is a God Who brings peace to our anxieties and answers to our questions.
During the appointment, Haley made the courageous decision to protect and defend the life of her preborn child!
And by the grace of God, she not only found support from the pregnancy center, but from the father of the baby and her family as well!
A once highly emotional and distraught Haley is now entrapped in the peace of God that surpasses all understanding as she embarks on this incredible journey of motherhood.
