When a father owns this holy mandate and steps up to his calling, he reaps the blessings God intends for himself, his family, and future generations!
Rylee had only been dating her boyfriend for three months when she found out she was pregnant.
This was most certainly “not” in their plans!
They were deeply conflicted.
Even though they did not think abortion was their “only” option, they found themselves leaning strongly towards it.
They were concerned about how they would provide for a child, and that their career goals and ambitions would be hampered by parenthood.
As soon as they searched the internet for abortion options, Heroic Media’s OAASYS Emergency Response ad popped up at the top of their search results.
OAASYS’s ad connected them instantly with one of our Pregnancy Help Center partners in Dallas, Texas, and the compassionate hotline staff Rylee spoke with convinced her to make an appointment for an ultrasound and pre-abortion counseling.
Rylee’s first ultrasound proved inconclusive.
However, the sonographer was able to build rapport and trust with both Rylee and her boyfriend, and they agreed to return for another ultrasound.
More than simply providing the ultrasound scan, the sonographer asked good questions, opening the door for them to process their conundrum with her, resulting in deep and hard conversations.
In all, Rylee and her boyfriend returned for five ultrasounds.
Yet each time, they left still deeply conflicted and undecided about the pregnancy.
In between two of those ultrasound appointments, Rylee even tried to obtain the abortion pill, but ultimately did not go through with it.
Finally, breakthrough came!
Rylee called the sonographer after the fifth ultrasound to let her know she had some news.
She shared that she and her boyfriend had thoroughly processed through each of the options: abortion, adoption, or to parent – but were still at an impasse.
Rylee’s boyfriend ran a BBQ business, and Rylee helped him with it.
One day, with customers waiting in line to be served, he suddenly turned to Rylee and said, “I want to keep it!”
Stunned, she responded, “Are we really talking about this right now?”
To which he replied, “Yes, I want to have this baby!”
In that moment, seeing her boyfriend finally step up to the plate to protect their preborn baby, Rylee found the freedom to give voice to what had been in her heart of hearts all along: “I want to have this baby, too!”
