When Kyrsten was not working at the local grocery store, she was most often spending time with her three-year-old son.

They were nearly inseparable; there was no doubt Kyrsten loved her son very much.

Being the sole provider for her small family, Kyrsten hoped to rise to a managerial position at the store, a role that would offer her considerably more money and benefits.

As her prospects looked promising, Kyrsten became unexpectedly pregnant.

She decided her career advancement and ability to provide for her son were more important than anything else, and subsequently decided that “abortion was probably her ‘best option.’”

Her decision was strongly affirmed by her boyfriend when she shared the news with him.

He didn’t want to parent a new baby either.

Kyrsten began searching online for an abortion facility.

Thanks to your support of Heroic Media’s OAASYS (On-demand Alternatives to Abortion SYStem) Emergency Response ads, she was connected with OAASYS’s Pregnancy Help Center partner in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania instead, and made an appointment.

When Kyrsten arrived at the pregnancy center, she made it clear that her intention was to get an abortion as quickly as possible.

She rejected all offers for options counseling, education, or material assistance.

She continued to insist on “needing an abortion.”

One of her client advocates was able to help Kyrsten make a follow-up appointment for an ultrasound.

Kyrsten would later confess that she only made this appointment in order to “get the client advocates off her back” so she could leave.

And that’s exactly what she did.

She left, and did not come back for the ultrasound.

When she missed her appointment, the committed client advocate, caring deeply about both Kyrsten and her preborn child, reached out via phone.

When her calls remained unanswered, she tried texting.

Nothing.

Eventually, Kyrsten returned the center’s calls and informed them that she “was not interested in their services or support.”

The case seemed like a “complete loss.”

But God had other plans.

Weeks later, that same client advocate picked up the phone – only to hear Kyrsten on the other end of the line!

She’d done a complete 180!

She’d changed her mind about getting an abortion and chosen to parent her baby!

Now grateful for the compassionate experience and offers of support she’d received – including the center’s caring interest in continuing to reach out to her to try to check in with her – she shared all about the healthy steps forward she was now taking to prepare for the arrival of her second child.

Stories like these are extra special because they show us God’s ability to work things out for His glory, even when the situation “seems hopeless.”

Thanks to your support, we were able to witness this life-saving moment – but are left to ponder what work God chose to do in this young lady’s heart that helped bring about the change.

Oftentimes, we see hearts change in the counseling room or the ultrasound table.

This time, we “saw a heart change in secret” – in a way in which only God can receive full credit.

Praise Him!
