Maria’s story demonstrates this timeless truth for us better than any.

Her story reminds us that, while we abound in the work of the Lord, it is the Lord Who brings it to fruition!

When Maria discovered that she was unexpectedly pregnant, she set her mind on abortion as “the only option.”

She faced several barriers to parenting: She considered herself financially unstable, and she didn’t see a future with the father of the baby.

Her search for an abortion facility triggered Heroic Media’s OAASYS Emergency Response ad, connecting her to one of OAASYS’s Pregnancy Help Center partners in Dallas, Texas.

Resolute in her abortion-determination, Maria made an appointment with the pregnancy center.

She received a pregnancy test as well as an ultrasound.

It was a short visit.

Maria left the appointment quickly, still abortion-minded, and refusing to take her sonogram pictures.

Naturally, the pregnancy center staff reached out to follow up.

Maria didn’t respond.

Most would consider Maria’s story “a loss” at this point.

Like so many women facing unexpected pregnancies, Maria believed abortion was “the only feasible option.”

She had been taught by a culture that abortion was “the easiest”“solution” – and she wouldn’t hear otherwise from those coming around her to offer help.

That is – until the pregnancy center called one more time to follow up!

This time – much to the surprise of her client advocate – Maria answered the call and thanked her advocate for checking in.

But the real surprise came next, when Maria stated:

“I have been doing very well and am attending a clinic near me for prenatal care.

I’ve chosen to have the baby!

Several days later, Maria called back again and asked to have the sonogram photos she’d initially refused to take with her!

And once again, Maria thanked everyone at the center for their help!

Sometimes it can feel like our labor is in vain – but Maria’s story reminds us that God works on His own terms.

God is the Master Weaver, orchestrating all things for our good, even when we “can’t foresee” a positive outcome.

It is a timely reminder that our labors are never in vain as we cooperate with God’s will to help save these precious lives.

How blessed are we to partner together with Him in this critical mission – and to get to see these beautiful fruits!

Thank you from the depths for your heroic partnership!

1 Corinthians 15:58:“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”
