Cameron sat in the waiting room of the pregnancy help center, her hands shaking.

She had been searching online for an abortion facility after finding out she was pregnant…

But thanks to your support of Heroic Media’s OAASYS (On-demand Alternatives to Abortion SYStem) Emergency Response advertising program, she was connected with one of OAASYS’s Pregnancy Help Center partners in Dallas, Texas instead.

Cameron had “never wanted to be a mother”…

She admittedly “didn’t like being around other people,” and she was estranged from the father of the baby.

She had even been having some “crazy thoughts” lately that she didn’t understand.

A few minutes in the waiting room, her client advocate came out to greet her.

She was a kind-looking woman with a warm smile.

She led Cameron to a private room and invited her to sit down.

Cameron sat down, taking a deep breath.

“I’m… pregnant,” she said. “And I want an abortion.”

Her client advocate nodded.

“I see,” she said.

“Can you tell me a little bit about your situation?”

Cameron told her advocate about her life.

She told her about how she had always been “a loner,” and how she had never really wanted to be around other people.

She told her about how she was estranged from the father of the baby, and how she had been having some “crazy thoughts” lately.

When she was finished, her client advocate explained that the pregnancy center offered a variety of services, including counseling, financial and material assistance, adoption services, and parenting classes.

She also offered Cameron a complimentary ultrasound.

Cameron agreed to have the ultrasound, but she reiterated her intent on getting an abortion – even after seeing her baby on the screen.

Returning to the counseling resource, her advocate offered to connect Cameron to the center’s licensed counseling program after Cameron shared further about her mental health struggles.

Cameron gladly accepted this offer, and made her first appointment for the following week – leaving the pregnancy center feeling a little bit better.

She was still leaning toward getting an abortion, but she also knew, now, that she had additional options – and that she wasn’t alone.

A month later, Cameron returned to the pregnancy center.

She was feeling significantly more clear-headed after several counseling sessions – and she had decided against getting an abortion and to parent her baby!

She shared that she was still feeling a little nervous, but she was also excited.

She knew that it would be a challenge – but she had also been empowered with a newfound determination to give her child the best possible life.

Today, Cameron is the proud mother of a beautiful baby girl.

She is grateful for the support of the pregnancy center, and grateful for the opportunity to be a mother!

Praise God!

And thank you for the critical role you played as Cameron’s and her precious daughter’s first line of defense against abortion!
