Laura grew up learning to fend for herself.

She was used to “going at it alone” because her parents were mostly absent throughout her childhood.

Now a sophomore in high school, Laura spent most of her time with her boyfriend and his family.

She considered them “more of a family” than her biological family.

But that dynamic was jeopardized when Laura found out she was pregnant.

As soon as she told her boyfriend, he told her they had “no choice” but to get an abortion.

Neither of them “felt ready” to become parents.

They immediately began searching online for an abortion facility.

Laura reached out to make an appointment.

In her communication with the hotline staff member, she made it clear that her boyfriend had declared that she had “no choice” but to get an abortion.

She admitted that although she had always considered herself pro-life, she felt conflicted about what to do.

She made an appointment to be seen right away.

Laura’s boyfriend’s mother accompanied her to the appointment.

When Laura went back to the counseling room, she reiterated her concerns to her client advocate.

“My boyfriend really does not want me to keep the baby,” she said through tears.

“But in my heart… I already feel like a mother… and I would do anything for my baby.

“But he says abortion is ‘the only way’.

 “I just feel so alone!”

Her client advocate continued to listen as Laura further articulated her dilemma.

Eventually, Laura asked to learn more about the abortion procedure and all that it entails.

She was horrified, stating, “I don’t ever want to judge anyone, but how is this ‘legal’?”

It became clear that Laura wanted to reject abortion and choose life for her baby.

She just needed to know she wasn’t alone.

 That’s when Laura and her client advocate invited her boyfriend’s mom into the conversation.

Laura shared about the immense pressure she was feeling from her boyfriend.

To Laura’s surprise, his mother expressed overwhelming support for Laura if she chose to parent her baby!

She even stated, “I’ll step in for him while he finishes school and support you both in every way needed.

“You don’t have to do this alone!”

Laura was visibly relieved.

Next, Laura went into the ultrasound room.

When she heard her baby’s heartbeat, she described it as “the most beautiful sound ever”.

 The relief continued to flood over Laura as she learned about the ongoing support offered by the pregnancy center.

She and her boyfriend’s mother left that day, unwavering in her decision against abortion and for LIFE for this precious baby!

Upon following up with Laura, her client advocate learned that Laura’s boyfriend was now in full support of raising their baby together!

They even came back to the center together to get their final supplies before heading to the hospital when it was time for the baby to be born.
