Life is full of mistakes!

The human condition means we are guaranteed to make mistakes.

However, there is great peace to be found in the fact that God never makes mistakes.

Trying circumstances in our lives are not because God “messed up.”, our mistakes can be used by Him to bring about our good, for He always knows what is best for His children.

And because God does not make mistakes, we are not a mistake, and the lives of preborn babies are certainly never mistakes!

For Amelia, denial had become her primary coping mechanism.

As long as she could “pretend something did not exist,” she would not have to deal with it.

This was the attitude she adopted about being pregnant.

When she first found out she was pregnant, she was immediately pressured by her boyfriend to get an abortion because he did not want any children.

While Amelia did not want an abortion, the thought of being a single mother caused her much anxiety.

Further, her landlord was planning to terminate her lease which would render her homeless.

She did not believe she had the mental, emotional, and financial wherewithal to continue with the pregnancy.

She felt so desperate that she attempted to induce an abortion through substance abuse.

Mercifully, God intervened by circumventing her mistakes with His perfect ways and protected both her and her baby’s life!

As her pregnancy progressed, Amelia did not know what to do except to continue “living in denial.”

Her boyfriend was under the impression that she had already obtained an abortion.

It was not long, however, before her growing belly gave the pregnancy away and forced her out of her denial.

Livid, her boyfriend pressed her to get an abortion without delay.

Amelia’s search on the internet for abortion providers brought Heroic Media’s OAASYS Emergency Response ad to her immediate attention, instantly connecting her with OAASYS’s Pregnancy Help Center partner in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

During her appointment at the center, it was clear that Amelia was well along in her pregnancy, judging by the size of her belly.

Since she had no recollection of her last menstrual period, she had no idea exactly how far along she was.

The ultrasound determined that her due date was just a few weeks away!

She was shocked!

Her near-term preborn baby boy appeared healthy in spite of her lack of prenatal care during her pregnancy.

Overwhelmed with emotion, Amelia revealed: “This baby is actually a miracle because I was always told I could not have kids!”

Abortion was no longer an option – not just because of how far along she was, but more significantly, because Amelia was now fully embracing the life of her baby!

Yet, the intense guilt she felt because of “the mistakes she’d made” early in the pregnancy when she attempted to self-abort remained a shackle.

Freedom from this guilt came when she realized that no matter her mistakes, God was in the process of bringing about redemption, and neither she nor her baby were mistakes in His sight!

Your support of Heroic Media’s OAASYS connected Amelia to life-saving help which led to her moving past her mistakes and embracing a future with her soon-to-be born son with great hope.
