We like the safety of having a “Plan B,” a fallback in case “Plan A” does not pan out.
Perhaps, having more than one option somehow makes us feel that we are more in control of our situation.
The truth is that, no matter how many options we create, we are never fully in control – only God is.
And with God, there is never a need for Plan B because His original plans for us are always perfect!
Maggie was not wired to be a risk-taker.
Playing it safe and making step-by-step plans for her life was her preferred mode of operation.
She was engaged to be married and had the next few years mapped out.
As much as she could help it, things would go according to the way she had planned.
Getting pregnant now, however, was NOT a part of her plans
When she found out she was pregnant, Maggie’s perfectly laid plans went into disarray.
She and her fiancé did not think abortion was their only option, yet, they were not sure they were ready to be parents, either.
Confused and scared, they searched the internet for pregnancy help and were instantly connected to Heroic Media’s OAASYS Emergency Response ad which paved the way for one of our Pregnancy Help Center partners in Chicago, Illinois to intervene in their situation.
At their appointment, Maggie expressed to her client advocate that she wanted to “explore her options” if she were to choose abortion, but also wanted to know what resources would be available to her should she continue with the pregnancy.
She confided that she was fearful and scared, this being her first pregnancy, but also because of her worries about financial concerns, and what having a baby in the equation would mean for her and her fiancé.
Simply being able to process her situation with the compassionate client advocate made a huge difference for Maggie as she said she was feeling “much more calm.”
Most significantly, the client advocate shared with Maggie about God’s providential provisions for her, her fiancé, and their baby, and assured her that because He was in control, she did not need to be!
Recognizing this crucial truth freed Maggie to banish the abortion option and choose life for her baby.
In exploring her options, she realized that only one option was feasible: LIFE!
