God’s timing does not always seem to match “our timing.”
Seen through the lenses of our finite understanding, we sometimes get frustrated with God’s timing, for we want Him to act “NOW!”
Yet, God is never early, never late, but always on time.
When we trust that His timing is perfect, and that He has a purpose for what we might perceive as “delays,” we can entrust our circumstances to Him and know that He is always working for our good!
Avery had an eight year-old child she was struggling to raise on her own.
Not only was she single parenting, she also had very little in the way of community.
She had no family in town and constantly felt overwhelmed.
When she discovered she was pregnant, she reached “the tipping point.”
The father of the baby did not want any involvement.
Feeling choked by the stresses of life, Avery contemplated abortion.
God’s perfect timing manifested when Avery’s internet search for abortion options instantly triggered Heroic Media’s OAASYS Emergency Response ad and immediately connected her to one of OAASYS’s Pregnancy Help Center partners in Dallas, Texas.
The hotline staff Avery spoke with emphasized the value of the pre-abortion services the center provided, specifically, the importance of determining the viability of her pregnancy via ultrasound before she proceeded with an abortion.
Persuaded, she agreed to an in-person appointment.
Avery met with a client advocate prior to the ultrasound, and when asked her primary reason for seeking an abortion, she simply stated, “This is not the right time for another child.”
Her client advocate gently and compassionately helped her process through the extenuating circumstances she was facing, and in so doing, emphasized God’s loving care for her and her baby.
The pregnancy was not “a random situation” that happened outside of God’s sovereignty, but, rather, was very much a part of His plan for her life.
Even if she did not think the timing was right, God’s timing for this pregnancy meant He had also timed the provision of resources she needed to choose life for this baby, created at this time, with a purpose!
The ultrasound Avery received during that first appointment proved inconclusive.
She was scheduled to return for a repeat ultrasound.
The intervening time allowed the seeds of truth which were implanted during her initial appointment to take root.
Her second ultrasound showed her developing six-week-old baby!
Avery’s heart was moved and she made the choice to trust God’s perfect timing for her and her baby: She decided to continue with her pregnancy!
