Meet Sarah: a young married woman, already a mom to a young baby who seemed to “never sleep”.

She and her husband John were struggling to make ends meet, and they were not sure if they would ever “be able to afford” having another child.

Their marriage had also been on the rocks for months due to the stresses of becoming first-time parents.

One day, Sarah went to the doctor for a routine checkup with normal blood work.

During the exam, the doctor told her that she was pregnant.

Sarah was shocked – and scared.

She and John “had not planned” on having another child.

How could they possibly “be ready”?

Sarah went home and talked with John about what they should do.

They both knew that abortion was an option, and they really didn’t “feel ready” to have another baby.

They decided to look online for more information.

The couple took to their phones to locate the closest abortion facility.

Thanks to your support of Heroic Media’s OAASYS (On-demand Alternatives to Abortion SYStem) Emergency Response ads, they were connected with OAASYS’s Pregnancy Help Center partner in Tulsa, Oklahoma instead, and made an appointment.

When they arrived at the pregnancy center, they were greeted by a friendly client advocate.

She listened to their story and offered support and resources.

After awhile, she asked the couple if they would be comfortable having a spiritual conversation with her.

They offered that they were “more than willing” to listen.

In fact, they asked a myriad of questions about God’s love for them – and for their preborn baby.

Eventually, the group made their way to the ultrasound room.

Upon seeing their baby on the ultrasound screen, Sarah and John realized that they wanted to keep the baby instead of pursuing an abortion.

They admitted that they still felt scared – but with the support of the center staff, they were both experiencing empowerment with a newfound determination to give the best life possible to this baby.

Suddenly, their marital and parenting troubles “seemed so small” in comparison to the magnitude and beauty of this new baby’s life!

With the help of the pregnancy center, Sarah and John were able to access the resources they needed to prepare for the arrival of their new baby.

They received financial assistance, parenting classes, and marriage counseling through a local church.

When their new baby was born, Sarah and John were so happy!

They knew that they’d made the right decision.

Now a family of four, they are joyfully embracing the start of this new chapter in their lives.

Praise God!
