He recycles the messiest parts of our lives and uses them to bring glory to Himself, as long as we are willing to surrender them to Him.
Once surrendered, we experience His saving power at work on our behalf!
Diana, a 29-year-old single mother of four children, was already feeling overwhelmed with life and struggled with depression.
This depression had clear roots in the fact that she had had 3 prior abortions which haunted her.
However, when faced with yet another unexpected pregnancy, Diana felt “she had no other choice” but to obtain another abortion.
This time, her internet search for abortion options led her down a very different path.

As soon as she called the number on OAASYS’s ad, she was connected with our Pregnancy Help Center partner in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma!
Diana came in for her ultrasound appointment at our partner center two hours prior to her scheduled abortion appointment, with the thought that she would be able to bring the ultrasound results and use for her abortion.
However, God had a surprise in store for her and intervened powerfully.
The ultrasound showed Diana that she was expecting a baby boy.
Instantly she exclaimed, “My son always asks me for a brother!”
During her counseling session with her client advocate, Diana shared the strong pressure exerted upon her by her boyfriend, his mother, and her friends to abort this baby.
She was deeply emotional when she talked about the 3 abortions she’d had and the immense guilt she felt.
Like many women who’d experienced abortions, she had bought into the lie that “since she had already ‘messed up,’” “what was one more abortion to add to her mistakes?”
Her client advocate powerfully shared God’s love for her, reassured her that He had forgiven her, and that He was working redemption for her from her past.
Giving her life over to Him, He would restore her life in great abundance!
The pregnancy center also offered financial help and material resources should she decide to continue with her pregnancy.
At the end of her counseling session, Diana proclaimed, “I am beginning to feel hope! I will not have an abortion. I am keeping my baby!”
The story did not end there that day.
Expressing an interest in attending church, Diana’s client advocate drove her to a local church which partnered with the center.
There, Diana met the pastor, who prayed with her.
The church staff also showed her what they had available for her four children, and she was eager to bring them with her.
Before she left, she even asked the pastor for a hug and stated, “I would love to share my story sometime so I can help someone else choose life!”
What a powerful testimony to how God truly can recycle the messiest parts of our lives and use them for His glory!
