At 17 years old, Bella was already raising a small toddler.

Before her first pregnancy, Bella and her mom were “two peas in a pod”: They did everything together and both worked customer service jobs to make ends meet.

But “everything changed” when Bella became pregnant with her son.

While the pair were ecstatic to welcome a little boy into the family, they quickly realized the mounting responsibilities and financial constraints that seemed to come “with every milestone.”

Bella’s mom was soon supporting the family single-handedly while Bella stayed home to care for her son and work toward getting her GED online.

One day, Bella’s mother suspected that her daughter was pregnant again.

Bella didn’t think she could “possibly” be pregnant, but within minutes, she saw two pink lines appear on a pregnancy test.

Feeling overwhelmed and stressed, Bella’s mother immediately tried to pressure Bella into having an abortion.

She “couldn’t imagine” adding another mouth to feed.

Despite Bella’s protests, her mother scheduled an appointment at an abortion facility.

However, she was concerned about acquiring enough cash to pay for the abortion.

She began searching online for a non-profit that “helps women pay for abortions.”

Thanks to your support of Heroic Media’s OAASYS (On-demand Alternatives to Abortion SYStem) Emergency Response ads, she was connected with OAASYS’s Pregnancy Help Center partner in Phoenix, Arizona instead.

She immediately asked about financial assistance, and the intake coordinator suggested that she and Bella come in to discuss the matter.

When they arrived, they were shocked to find out that Bella was already 20 weeks pregnant.

This meant the abortion would be twice as expensive as anticipated…

The client advocate took the opportunity to share with Bella and her mother about the material and financial support available through the pregnancy center for families choosing any alternative to abortion.

Bella’s mother was “less than thrilled”.

She was not interested in hearing about any other options.

Her mind was still set on abortion.

Bella accepted the client advocate’s invitation to speak with her alone.

She listened compassionately to Bella’s story.

Bella shared that her mother was “making her get an abortion”but that she wanted to keep the baby.

Her client advocate asked Bella if there was anyone in her life who might support her decision to parent her baby.

Bella immediately thought of her aunt, who she knew was pro-life.

They gave her a call immediately.

Bella’s aunt was overjoyed to hear the news and offered to support Bella in every way needed in her choice to carry and parent her baby!

When Bella emerged from the counseling room, she updated her mother on the situation and the call to her aunt.

She demonstrated tremendous bravery!

Her mother couldn’t bear the idea of “losing Bella,” and her heart began to soften.

Thanks to your support of OAASYS, and to the life-affirming help of her client advocate, Bella now has support not only from her aunt and the pregnancy center, but also from her mother!

She was relieved and excited to welcome a new baby in just twenty short weeks!
