God made us a bold promise in Hebrews 13:5 when He said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.”

In response, the writer of Hebrews asked: “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?”

For Michelle, this last question was troublesome because she had experienced much trauma in her life at the hands of others.

The most recent trauma was from her boyfriend who was not only physically abusive, but emotionally and mentally as well, including being unfaithful to her during their relationship.

Her answer to “What can anyone do to me?” likely would have been, “Too much! If only you knew!”

Not surprisingly, when she found out she was pregnant, she was terrified to have a child with the abuser from whom she wanted complete separation.

She decided abortion was “the answer.”

Yet, God clearly stated in Hebrews that He is “my helper.”

The Greek word for “helper” in this passage is “boethos.”

The etymology is rendered from “boe,” which means “a shout,” and “theo,” which means “to run.”

As the author Max Lucado writes, “When you need help, God runs with a shout: ‘I’m coming!’”

This was clearly what He did for Michelle!

In the midst of her crisis, as she searched for abortion options on the internet, God “ran with a shout” to her immediate aid.

One of the first things manifested was Heroic Media’s OAASYS Emergency Response ad responding to her online search for abortion.

The ad instantly connected her with OAASYS’s Pregnancy Help Center partner in Phoenix, Arizona, and she agreed to make an appointment to discuss her options and for an ultrasound.

The ultrasound revealed that her baby was 10 weeks old.

Michelle was taken aback by the sight of her fully formed baby on the screen!

She shared with her client advocate that even though she was considering abortion, her family was against abortion and upset with her for wanting to abort her baby.

Her grandmother had even offered to raise her child for her.

Michelle’s client advocate helped her understand that God had made provisions of help available to her.

Breakthrough for Michelle came when she realized that she was wanting an abortion because of the fear and resentment she felt towards her boyfriend, when, in fact, her baby was completely innocent in the matter!

All of these factors combined, along with the assurance of a God Who promised to never leave nor forsake her, ultimately empowered Michelle to make the choice for life!

THANK YOU for the critical part you played in helping her experience the love of her Heavenly Father Who was “running towards her with a shout,” enabling her to choose life for herself and her baby!

You are heroic!
