The apostle Peter exhorts us to “cast all of our cares upon Jesus” simply because He loves us and is infinitely able to “carry the load” on our behalf.

The same word for “cast” was used by Luke in a different context.

In his description of Jesus’ getting ready for His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, Luke talked about the disciples’ preparing the colt on which Jesus was to ride: “They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt, and put Jesus on it.” (Luke 19:35)

Just as Jesus sat on the cloaks that were cast upon the colt, casting our cares upon Him means He not only has them, He “sits right on top of them”– and we can be freed of the burden of “owning” these cares!

When Katelyn found out she was pregnant, she felt extremely conflicted.

While she did not think abortion was “right,” she also “did not want” to continue with the pregnancy.

Feeling desperate and laden by the heavy load of cares brought on by the unexpected pregnancy, she searched the internet for pregnancy options and found Heroic Media’s OAASYS Emergency Response ad.

OAASYS’s ad connected her instantly with our Pregnancy Help Center partner in Akron, Ohio.

Once she found out that the center was equipped to help her figure out her options, she made an appointment right away.

The father of her baby was not in the picture.

Instead, Katelyn’s own father accompanied her to the appointment.

Both of them confided to the client advocate that they had a faith background, and even though they expressed that they “didn’t believe in abortion,” the contingencies of Katelyn’s situation had caused them to waver in their faith conviction against abortion.

The client advocate listened compassionately and emphasized the fact that Jesus was more than capable of taking upon Himself the anxieties Katelyn was experiencing regarding her pregnancy – “sitting upon them,” and already making provisions for all of her needs.

Her part was to be willing to cast her cares upon Him!

Then, during the ultrasound, Katelyn saw her baby; her dad saw his grandchild.

Yet, Katelyn remained undecided.

A follow-up appointment was made for a second ultrasound, but Katelyn did not show up to this appointment.

Concerned that she may have had an abortion, her client advocate called her – and to her joyous surprise, Katelyn shared that she had decided to continue her pregnancy!

Our pregnancy center partner was able to provide Katelyn with resources she needed to prepare for her baby, alleviating even more of the initial cares she’d had.

THANK YOU for being a co-laborer in helping abortion seekers like Katelyn experience the freedom that comes from casting their cares upon Jesus and letting Him “sit on those cares,” thereby empowering these mothers to choose life!

You are heroic!
