Samantha was a straight-A student with “a ticket” to any college of her choice.
She only had a few months until graduation from high school and she felt like she had the entire world at her fingertips.
All the stars seemed to be aligning – until she realized she was unexpectedly pregnant.
Like many young, bright-eyed high school seniors, Samantha didn’t want anything to “get in the way” of the plans she had for her future.
She believed that a baby would make college nearly impossible, and that her boyfriend would break up with her if he knew.
Sadly, she also believed that her family would be ashamed of her for getting pregnant.
With little hesitation, she began searching online for an abortion facility.

When Samantha arrived at the pregnancy center, she immediately inquired about the abortion pill.
She believed she was early enough in her pregnancy that the abortion pill would be a “quick fix” for her “problem.”
Samantha shared that the baby’s father also wanted her to have an abortion.
She had yet to share the news with her family.
When she kept bringing up the prospect of a chemical abortion, her client advocates asked her if she would be willing to have an ultrasound.
She agreed, thinking the ultrasound “couldn’t possibly change her mind.”
Within seconds, Samantha heard the clear beat of her baby’s heart and saw the little pulse on the screen.
She burst into tears.
The tiny baby was measuring 5 weeks and 6 days old!
Samantha left, in tears and statedly undecided.
Her client advocates, with expectant faith, were eagerly expecting her return.
When Samantha did return a few days later, she shared that she had changed her mind about getting an abortion and decided to keep and parent her baby!
As she continued to contemplate the beauty of her baby’s LIFE – which she had seen so tangibly on the ultrasound screen – she was overjoyed – and already had names picked out!
She signed up to attend classes and faithfully attended them.
