Experiencing trials can feel like a head-on collision: the trauma is intense and we are left struggling with the wreckage in the aftermath.
Yet, because our God is steadfast to fulfill His promise to love and abide with us, trials become not a collision with crises, but rather, a collision with His grace.
God uses these trials to get our attention in order to turn our hearts towards Him.
For a head-on collision with grace is what we all need!
Ashleigh and her husband had been married for about a year and a half, and while they desired to have children someday, their plan was to wait several years.
Ashleigh was 22 and wanted to get more established in life.
Consequently, when she found out she was pregnant, the meticulous plans she had mapped out for their lives were “wrecked,” she felt, by the pregnancy.
Reeling from the collision with this crisis, Ashleigh contemplated abortion.
Ironically, her mother-in-law worked at a local pregnancy center, and both her husband and mother-in-law were pro-life and Christian.
Because of this, Ashleigh searched the internet for pregnancy help in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, which was almost two hours away from her town.
God’s “grace collision” began through Heroic Media’s OAASYS Emergency Response ad which popped up at the top of Ashleigh’s search results.
He used OAASYS’s ad to connect her with our Pregnancy Help Center partner in Oklahoma City, which not only provided life-affirming options, but also proclaimed the soul-saving Gospel of Jesus!
At her appointment, Ashleigh shared with her client advocate that she was atheist, and considered herself “spiritual” rather than having any “spiritual beliefs.”
She did not think abortion was wrong, and even after her client advocate discussed the emotional risks of an abortion, she felt she would not have any emotional side effects.
Undeterred by her stoicism, her client advocate shared the Gospel with her and encouraged her to research more deeply about the true God.
She emphasized to Ashleigh how much God loved her and wanted a personal relationship with her.
Perhaps for the first time, Ashleigh finally felt God’s love penetrate deep within her heart!
God’s grace once again met her during the ultrasound.
As soon as she saw her six-week-old baby and its beating heart, she realized that she could not proceed with her plan to have an abortion.
Through her unexpected pregnancy, she came to realize that God had been reaching out to her the entire time and that His grace would be more than sufficient for her!
THANK YOU for your faithful support of Heroic Media’s OAASYS.
Through you, God’s grace has the opportunity to collide with every woman who is considering abortion that OAASYS reaches.
Like Ashleigh’s baby, lives are saved because of your sacrificial giving!

he causes grief, he will have compassion according to the abundance
