God is the ultimate Gift Giver.
He does not withhold good from His children and delights in showering blessings of every good and perfect gift upon us.
Circumstances can, however, sometimes blind us to His good gifts because they might not come in the pretty packages we expect.
It is only when we renew our focus on the Gift Giver Himself that we realize the goodness of the gifts He has given!
A single mother who was already juggling several children, Marcia did not think she had the wherewithal to welcome another child into her overwhelmed existence.
Searching the internet for abortion services, Marcia found the Emergency Response ad placed by Heroic Media’s OAASYS.
Calling the number displayed on her screen, Marcia was instantly connected with our Pregnancy Help Center partner in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and made an appointment to be seen.
Marcia was emotional as she met with her client advocate.
Her client advocate helped Marcia understand that an abortion was not without consequences.
While it might seem to be the “instant solution” to her problems, it would be an irreversible decision which Marcia could never take back.
Even though she understood the gravity of the abortion option, Marcia kept reiterating, “This is just a lot. I just don’t know.”
But – our good Gift Giver intervened by giving Marcia the gift of seeing her baby via ultrasound!
The ultrasound surprised Marcia, as it revealed that she was much farther along in her pregnancy than she had thought.
She was well into her second trimester, and the sonographer was even able to determine the gender of her baby – a little boy!
The counseling which Marcia received had spoken truth and grace to her, while the ultrasound tangibly showed her the reality of the life of her son.
Moved, Marcia declared that her baby was “from The Man above,” finally acknowledging the Gift Giver – and in so doing, was freed to see the goodness of His gift!
After taking some time to thoroughly think through every aspect of her decision, Marcia firmly decided to continue with her pregnancy!
