The account of how Moses was rescued as a baby from sure death when Pharaoh issued the order for all Hebrew male babies to be killed at birth is a stunning testimony to our God who saves.

Moses’ mother, Jacobeth, had, with great care, placed Moses in a basket and floated it down a river where she knew he would be found by Pharaoh’s daughter, whom she hoped would adopt him and ensure his safety.

She also sent his sister, Miriam, to watch over the basket as it made its way down the river.

Miriam not only kept watch over her brother, but also courageously went before the Egyptian princess to advocate for her brother’s life.

And as a result of Miriam’s bravery and wisdom, not only did the princess adopt Moses as her son, she also hired Jacobeth to care for him, reuniting mother and son!

Like Miriam for Moses, Hannah’s older sister, Sarah, had been Hannah’s advocate and confidante.

Only 15 years old, Hannah looked up to Sarah, 19.

When Hannah became pregnant, Sarah was the first person in whom she confided.

The pregnancy was the result of a one-night stand, and the father of the baby was no longer in the picture.

Both Hannah and Sarah decided that abortion would be the only option – and to keep the pregnancy a secret from their parents.

Hannah was terrified of her parents’ wrath; she just knew that they would be bitterly disappointed with her.

Hannah and Sarah made plans for Hannah to have the abortion when they went to Texas to visit their grandparents so as to ensure that their parents would not find out.

Sarah searched the internet for abortion providers in Dallas, her search instantly triggering Heroic Media’s OAASYS Emergency Response ad connecting her to one of our Pregnancy Help Center partners in the Greater Dallas area.

Not knowing where else to turn, the compassion communicated by the hotline counselor Sarah spoke with motivated her to make an appointment for Hannah right away.

The client advocate who met with the sisters lovingly helped Hannah process through the fears that were driving her to want to have an abortion, and educated her about the physical and emotional effects of an abortion.

To the client advocate’s – and Hannah’s – surprise, Sarah started sobbing.

Through tears, Sarah revealed that she had had an abortion a few years ago, the trauma of it still fresh in her mind.

She did not want to see her little sister go through what she had; yet, she did not know how Hannah could raise a baby either.

The heart of this older sister was breaking for her little sister as she wished that she could somehow “fix” the situation for her.

The ultrasound revealed a complete shocker: Hannah was 17 weeks pregnant!

Stunned, Sarah knew that not only would an abortion kill her baby niece or nephew, it would also be extremely traumatic for Hannah.

Sarah realized that they would need to let their parents in on this secret, hoping for their support.

This time, Sarah’s protective instinct manifested itself not in “helping her sister” get an abortion, but, rather, for real help – to continue with her pregnancy!

The sisters began to formulate a plan on how to break the news.

Two days after their appointment, the client advocate called Hannah to check in on her.

Hannah joyfully shared the news that, with Sarah’s help, she’d told her parents about her pregnancy, and while they were initially angry and disappointed, they affirmed their love for her and agreed to help her and her baby!

Just like that, abortion was kicked out the door and the choice was made for life!

Your support of Heroic Media helped an older sister like Sarah – through coming to terms with the trauma of her own abortion – protect the lives of her sister and her baby.

Your continued support ensures that this “Miriam effect” can be multiplied across our country every day.

THANK YOU!
