Angela was 17 when she found out she was unexpectedly pregnant.
Finishing out her final semester of high school, she already had plans to enlist in the military following graduation.
The news of her unexpected pregnancy took her by complete shock.
She consulted her mother about how to proceed.
Hoping to “take care of it” quickly and easily, Angela’s mother began searching the internet for a provider who would prescribe the abortion pill regimen.

The hotline staff encouraged them to come in for a pregnancy test and an ultrasound, and they made an appointment for that same week.
At the appointment, both Angela and her mother were able to see the baby’s heartbeat on the ultrasound.
Seeing the heartbeat was a powerful moment – but it wasn’t the only powerful intervention that happened that day.
While sitting in the waiting room, Angela’s mother grabbed a few pamphlets from a nearby display.
She began reading about the abortion procedure.
The graphic descriptions of the way a baby’s life is ended in the womb through abortion was enough to make her question abortion as “an option.”
She also learned about the adverse health risks to the woman – particularly the risks involved with the abortion pill.
Still undecided, Angela and her mother returned for a follow-up ultrasound, and this time, Angela also brought the father of the baby.
And this time, Angela also asked about resources to help her parent the baby, including mom support groups, parenting classes, and labor and delivery classes.
Following that appointment, Angela let the center staff know that she and the baby’s father had decided to choose life and parent the baby together.
They’d decided that they couldn’t go through with an abortion once they understood all that an abortion entailed!
The truth had set them free and rescued them from making a devastating choice!
