Debra felt conflicted.

A single mother to her 8-year-old son, Debra did not think she could face raising another child by herself.

She and her boyfriend had been on rocky ground and she felt unsure about what his reaction to this pregnancy would be.

She wanted him to accept this baby, but she was not sure he would.

“Maybe I don’t want to know his reaction,” she thought. Debra began to think about abortion.

She pulled out her phone and searched for abortion information on Google.

She clicked on a Heroic Media ad and was connected with our Pregnancy Help Center partner in Chicago.

Debra made an appointment and walked in, unsure about everything.

She told the client advocate about her conflicted feelings.

Her hopes and her fears were at battle, and her client advocate was determined to see her hopes win the day.

She encouraged Debra to take the time to process through her emotions.

She affirmed Debra’s love for her son and her desire to provide him a wonderful life.

She told Debra that no matter what happened with her boyfriend, the center would provide her emotional, spiritual, and material support.

Debra’s hopes became stronger and her fears began to shrink.

Then she saw her baby, revealed on the ultrasound screen.

Her tiny 8-week-old baby bounced around on the screen and Debra’s face lit up.

Her hopes had won the day!

Debra chose life for her baby!
