It seemed impossible.

With three children already, the youngest a toddling 1-year-old, Kallie felt totally overwhelmed.

It was not her children, but rather the father of her children who made it feel like it would be impossible to choose life for this child.

Not only had he pressured Kallie into making an appointment at PlannedParenthood for this pregnancy, but he had abused Kallie for years.

Suffering domestic violence and trauma at the hands of her children’s father had made Kallie feel incapable and alone.

The effects of this abuse reached far beyond her emotional state, making her finances unstable and her living situation constantly in flux.

But there was something inside of her that made her feel like she could not end this pregnancy.

When she went to the abortion facility for her appointment, rather than taking the abortion pill, she stood up and walked out.

Despite this act of courage, the father of her children had forced her to call the abortion facility again to reschedule.

She Googled abortion, and instead of clicking on the abortion facility’s website, she clicked on a Heroic Media ad.

Through the ad she connected with our Pregnancy Help Center partner in Chicago and made an appointment for that same week.

When she came in for the appointment, Kallie was given resources for housing and prenatal care.

The client advocate learned that Kallie’s mother was supportive of her keeping her pregnancy and encouraged her to lean on the relationships in her life that were truly supporting both her and her child.

Despite all the odds, and through the encouragement of the center, Kallie courageously chose life for her precious child!

Praise God!
