The cost of love is often great, but the reward is infinite. 33-year-old Kimberly could not fathom having another child.
Already the mother of 8 children, motherhood had been a complicated and difficult road for her.
She did not want to experience any more trauma or tragedy, and another pregnancy seemed like an opening to just that.
Kimberly searched the internet for abortion information, clicked on an ad placed by Heroic Media, connected with our Pregnancy Help Center partner in Dallas, and made an appointment.
Upon arrival, Kimberly opened her heart and poured out to her counselor the many difficulties she had experienced.
Her childhood had been filled with abandonment and abuse.
Even so, the loss of her childhood innocence was not her deepest pain.
A few years ago, Kimberly had watched her beautiful 18-month-old get hit by a car and die.
She had not one, but two sets of twins, one set with disabilities from the trauma of a premature birth.
Everything from her own childhood wounds, to the loss of her child, to birth trauma, to the particular parenting challenges she faced, seemed nothing less than overwhelming.
The counselor offered Kimberly the only thing she could: HOPE.
Hope that Kimberly’s wounds could be healed and she could be set free.
Hope that this precious child was a gift and a new and unique person, sent to her for her help, not her harm.
Hope that the Dallas pro-life community not only could, but would, support Kimberly through all of this, with both emotional and material resources.
Kimberly, grabbing onto that HOPE, bravely chose life for her child!
Praise God for Kimberly’s strength and love for her preborn baby that does not count the cost!
Isaiah 40:31: But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
