Life is full of surprises, and Laura had just received another.

In her late 30s, Laura was the mother of a 19-year-old son and 2-year-old twins.

Her son was expecting his first child, and Laura was ready to be a grandmother.

Notto have another child of her own. When she found out she was pregnant, Laura felt sure that she should have an abortion.

She searched for abortion information online, clicked on a Heroic Media ad, and was connected with our Pregnancy Help Center partner in Chicago.

Laura came to her appointment prepared to end her pregnancy.

She told her client advocate that she did not feel right about being pregnant at the same time her own child was expecting his first.

The client advocate felt compelled to share her own testimony.

She told Laura that she was pregnant at the same time her mother was pregnant with her little brother.

She told her it was a time filled with blessings and encouraged Laura to recognize the gift of her new baby’s life.

Laura seemed hesitant.

She eventually shared that she had two abortions in her past.

Her advocate was again compelled to share that she, too, had had an abortion.

She shared that hope and healing were possible and encouraged Laura that she did not have to make that same regrettable, irreversible decision again.

Laura’s heart seemed to be softening, but she left the appointment undecided.

When her client advocate followed up with her, Laura conveyed that her testimony had convicted and convinced her, and she had chosen life for her baby!

Praise God!
