Mia felt like the room was spinning.
She sat down on the floor and put her head between her knees.
“I can’t do this. Not now.”
Only a few months ago she had left her home and family in Puerto Rico to relocate herself and her two children to Ohio.
She had a new relationship with a man she’d met after this move, but she did not know if they had a future together.
She felt alone, without family, friends, or a solid relationship.
Pulling out her phone, Mia searched the internet for abortion information, clicked on a Heroic Media ad, connected with our Pregnancy Help Center partner in Cleveland, Ohio, and made an appointment.
When she arrived, she looked visibly overwhelmed.
The counselor asked Mia to share her heart. Mia opened up about her whole situation.
She wanted to be a great mother for her children, she wanted to make good decisions for them, and she felt the best decision she could make right now was to have an abortion.
The counselor affirmed Mia’s desire to be a great mother and pursue opportunities for her children.
She reminded Mia that the little baby she was carrying was one of her children, and that she could be a great mother to all three of her children.
She shared with Mia the resources that could help her and the ways the center would support her throughout her pregnancy and the first years of her new baby’s life.
And when Mia saw her little baby on the ultrasound, her whole demeanor changed.
She asked for a copy of the ultrasound to take home with her and told the counselor she had changed her mind about wanting to abort and was going to keep her baby!
God is so good!
