Rebecca’s head was spinning.

Less than a week ago, she had found out she was pregnant, and the chaos that followed had left her in utter turmoil.

She had immediately set an appointment with an abortion facility.

With an 8-month-old baby and a boyfriend who had not been consistent in his support of her or their child, Rebecca did not see any other way.

When she went in to the abortion facility, she found out that she was 23 weeks pregnant.

Still postpartum, she had not realized that the months of missing her cycle was in fact a sign of pregnancy and not the result of breastfeeding.

The abortion facility staff told Rebecca they could not legally perform an abortion at 23 weeks and referred her to a facility in Colorado that would.

Rebecca felt sick.

But this time, it was from her emotions and not from her hormones.

Rebecca went home and rocked her 8-month-old to sleep, crying over what she was supposed to do.

She felt like she needed to know more before she could make any decision.

Rebecca pulled out her phone and performed a Google search for late-term abortion information.

She clicked on a Heroic Media ad and connected with our Pregnancy Help Center partner in Los Angeles.

Rebecca opened up and shared everything with her counselor at her appointment.

She shared how shocked she had been at the news that she was carrying a 23-week-old baby, how put off she was by the idea of a late-term abortion, and how scared she was that she would have no way to take care of this child.

Her counselor shared with her the realities of late-term abortions and the complete support she had, through the center, to choose life and love for her baby.

Rebecca began to see another way.

With the encouragement of her counselor and the sure support of the center, Rebecca was able to choose life for her child!

She is working every day to improve her circumstances for herself and her two little babies.
