Everywhere Tiana went, she brought joy and laughter with her.

Already the mother of four young children, Tiana wanted nothing more than to be the best mother she could possibly be.

Her family had not been supportive of her choosing life for her children and her last conversation with her own mother had left deep wounds.

Her mother’s words ran through Tiana’s head as she looked at the positive sign on her home pregnancy test: “You should never have any more children. I won’t support you.”

Rather than her normal joy, Tiana felt only sadness.

Fighting back tears, Tiana searched for abortion information on Google.

She clicked on the first link she saw, a Heroic Media ad, and connected with our Pregnancy Help Center partner in San Antonio.

Even though she felt deep pain, Tiana did everything she could to hide it.

She came to the center for her appointment with a bounce in her step and a smile on her face.

She shared her story with her counselor.

She shared the many joys and delights of her life and her counselor shared in them as they chatted and laughed together.

The conversation eventually took a more serious turn.

Tiana shared that she had a deep faith and she believed that God had given her the strength to overcome every difficulty in her past.

She had always wanted a faith bigger than her fears, but right now she was hurting.

She began to cry as she talked about her fears and her pain.

She spoke of the fear of her mother’s disapproval and the fear that her children would resent her for having another baby.

The counselor relieved Tiana’s fears by speaking gently of the beauty of life.

She affirmed the beauty of Tiana’s joy, faith, and motherhood.

She reminded Tiana that new life brings healing, something abortion could never do.

Empowered and inspired, Tiana chose life for her fifth child! God’s grace is truly good!
