One of the most comforting promises Jesus imparted during His ministry on earth was for all who are weary and heavy laden to come to Him and take up His yoke, and He will give rest.
Carrying the yoke with Jesus means we make the choice to come under His covering of grace and walk in step with Him.
In so doing, we can be unburdened from the worries and anxieties that cripple us and, instead, take on the yoke of grace.
When we are yoked with Christ, He carries the weight of our burdens!
Arianna had been yoked to a burden of weariness and fear, which had become her allconsuming reality.
A single mother with a one-year-old, she battled many health struggles.
In fact, her last pregnancy just about “did her in” because of the many health complications she faced throughout the pregnancy.
When she found out she was pregnant again, the thought of going through the ordeal, and possibly facing even worse complications, gripped her with raw fear.
Besides, how would she care for her child if she had to deal with more health challenges?
Arianna searched the internet for abortion options.

The client advocate who met with Arianna compassionately helped her understand that her fears did not define the truth of her situation.
With proper medical help, her health complications could be managed.
She helped Arianna connect with the baby within her – especially when the ultrasound revealed she was almost 16 weeks into her pregnancy and was possibly having a baby girl!
Most significantly, her client advocate shared the gospel with Arianna and encouraged her to be yoked to Jesus so that she could trade her fears and weariness for His rest and mercy.
Arianna realized that she did not need to make her decision out of fear because she was covered by Jesus’ yoke of grace.
Two days after her appointment, Arianna sent a text her client advocate:
“So I’m aiming to keep my baby and do what a mom’s gotta do to take care of and love her baby. But thank you guys so much for all you have done for so many I’m sure. I appreciate it! God Bless you all.”
