Christina felt a fluttering in her stomach.

She wondered if it was butterflies from her nerves or, maybe, tiny feet?

Holding her positive pregnancy test in her hand, she walked up to her boyfriend and handed it to him without comment.

He looked up at her.

“Christina, we can figure this out, together.”

Christina bowed her head. “My mom is going to be so upset,” she whispered.

Even though she was afraid of her mother’s reaction, bolstered by the support of her boyfriend, Christina decided to share the news with her mother.

She had been right.

Her mother was distraught, holding nothing back in telling Christina exactly what she thought.

he could not see how her daughter being a teenage mother would bring anything good into her life.

The words of her mother stuck with Christina.

Even though she and her boyfriend had said they would keep this baby, Christina began to think about an abortion.

Maybe her mother was right.

Without her boyfriend knowing, Christina performed a Google search for abortion information.

She clicked on a Heroic Media ad and called our Pregnancy Help Center partner in Houston to make an appointment.

Christina came to her appointment filled with fear and confusion.

She shared her trepidations and mixed emotions with the counselor.

Christina wanted her mother’s love and approval, but she also wanted this baby.

Her counselor comforted Christina, holding her hand and providing her the love and support she had not felt from her mother.

She told Christina that she was worthy of great love – and so was the tiny baby that Christina was carrying.

Squeezing her counselor’s hand, filled up with the love she had been looking for, Christina found the courage and the words to say, “I think I can do this.”

“Of course you can!” her counselor responded.

Praise the Lord for the love and support Christina was given because of your love and support, so she in turn could give love and support to her little baby!

II Corinthians 1:3-4: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
