Our loving Father promises to work every circumstance for our good and for His glory, and He delights in surprising us with gifts beyond our deserving.

As we journey with Him in faithful trust and obedience, He takes us on a “treasure hunt” where we discover treasures He has hidden along our way.

As we collect each of these treasures, we can see the big picture of His goodness and receive His peace no matter our circumstance!

Ashley, a single mother of a 2-year old-son, was desperate to turn her life around.

The father of her toddler was completely absent from their lives, and the man she had been dating recently broke off their relationship.

To her dread, she discovered she was pregnant by him after their breakup.

When she told him the news, he reacted poorly and wanted no involvement with either Ashley or their baby.

Once again abandoned by another man she thought cared about her, Ashley was heartbroken.

In her despair, aborting seemed to her to be her “best option.”

She could not have known that God had hidden “treasures” along the path of this unexpected pregnancy!

OAASYS’s ad instantly connected her with OAASYS’s Pregnancy Help Center partner in her home city of Phoenix, Arizona.

Finding this first treasure positioned her on the track to uncover all the other treasures God had embedded to bring her hope in the midst of her despair.

Ashley shared with her client advocate at the center that she was living with her mother and 18-year-old sister. Her mother did not want her to be pregnant out of wedlock again and she was fearful of disappointing her.

However, as she began to process in greater depth, she found another treasure.

She realized how much she was loved by her mother and sister – and that in spite of any disappointment they might feel, Ashley was confident that they would ultimately support and help her as they had with her toddler.

Her client advocate helped her make the sobering realization that abortion was a permanent, irreversible decision.

As she considered her son and this preborn baby she was pregnant with, Ashley was suddenly impressed by what a gift a sibling would be for her son.

The unexpected pregnancy she had originally perceived to be nothing but “a crisis” now took on new meaning when she reframed it as a treasure given by God to bless her and her son!

Ashley returned to the pregnancy center a week later for her ultrasound and shared with her client advocate that she had decided to choose life for her baby!

She was also able to obtain insurance to cover her pregnancy, yet another treasure God bestowed in the midst of her circumstances.

Overwhelmed by the goodness of God, Ashley found the courage she needed to be the mother God had already equipped her to be!
