Jesus tells us that one of the paradoxes of His gospel is that when we make the decision to selflessly sacrifice by giving up our wants and desires for His sake, He restores to us His life-giving provisions in abundant measure!

Christine was devastated when she found out she was pregnant.

Fear “spoke loudly” to her.

…“What will your mom think?… She will be so disappointed with you…”

…“Your boyfriend doesn’t even care about you… nor does he want this baby…”

…“You can’t do this alone!”…

…“You can’t finish school if you have a baby…”

…“What about the promotion at work you’re about to get?… They’re going to give the position to someone else if they know you’re pregnant!”…

Taken captive by these lies, Christine immediately searched the internet for abortion options.

And just as immediately, Heroic Media’s OAASYS Emergency Response ad came to her rescue, connecting her with our Pregnancy Help Center partner in El Paso, Texas – which brought her headlong rush to an abortion facility to a screeching halt!

During her appointment at our partner center, Christine shared with her client advocate all the fears she was experiencing about continuing with her pregnancy.

Instead of adding more fuel to these lies, the truths compassionately communicated by her client advocate helped Christine realize that she was much more resilient than she thought.

Her client advocate also assured her that there were resources which would be available for her, promised that the pregnancy center would support her through every step of the journey ahead should she continue with her pregnancy, and gently but strongly encouraged Christine to talk to her mother in spite of her fears of rejection.

By the time Christine left the pregnancy center, she realized that many of her fears stemmed from her trying to “rescue her life from the mire.”

However, the connection her client advocate had helped her make with her baby’s life stirred up strong maternal instincts that empowered her to place his life before hers.

Her fears began to pale in comparison when she saw the beauty of her baby’s life!
